Ben's First Baby Shower

Why is it that the dad-to-be never gets a baby shower? Sure, he doesn't have to experience morning sickness, labor, and weight gain, but . . . well, boys like parties and presents too!

So, here is Ben's first, very own baby shower-- thrown by the SICU staff at Buffalo General Hospital-

Okay, so I'm still in the picture . . . but this is Ben's shower and yes, he loved the diaper cake!

The shower was at "The Towne" restaurant

Narda (I hope I spelled her name right) was the mastermind behind the cake and decorations. Everyone was so thoughtful!

Look how excited he looks! After nine months of putting up with my pregnancy symptoms so well, he deserves his own baby shower!

And, only because you have been asking for it . . .

4 Weeks to Go!

Happy Spring . . . Buffalo style!

Where does it all come from? Between Friday night and Saturday we had record breaking snow here in Buffalo-- just in time for spring and daylight savings. Church was cancelled Sunday morning so we spent the day cooking (and eating!), reading, playing Wii, and taking pictures of the snow.

Now, for the updated baby picture. As you can see, he's growing well. 9 1/2 weeks to go! I do have to apologize though for all the "Krystal" pictures. You see, when there's only two of you, one person takes the pictures and then, well, there's me. After watching "Ben and Krystal" home movies, Ben's brother Royce pointed out that we really needed to have kids. Well, we're getting close and then we'll have a new poser. Until then . . .

And for the update . . . (finally)

Welcome back to the King blog! Life is going well here is Buffalo. Ben is enjoying his time in the SICU-- especially now that's he was accepted into the CRNA program for this August, and Krystal, well she's growing. As of yesterday, there are 13 weeks to go until we have a third member of the family . . . and is he excited. He kicks all the time and you can see Krystal's whole stomach move.

On January 30th, we measured Krystal's growing belly, which had grown 5 1/2 inches-- and that was in January! We had a second ultrasound and to Ben's relief, our baby is still (and definitely) a boy. His ultrasound matched up with the predicted due date: May 14th and getting closer.
We celebrated our 2nd anniversary on November 18th

We spent the holiday season in Buffalo this year due to both of us being low on the totem poll at work. It was a new experience. We enjoyed being together and being with our friends in Buffalo.

In mid-January we headed to Utah for Royce and Jessica's wedding. We're excited to have a new sister-in-law and we're excited for Royce to have a wife! (check out the slide show!)
