El Paso

So my newest addiction: spontaneous road trips. I love them. We've done quite a few of them. I think I need to do quite a few more of them.
This one was to El Paso
My sister's family recently moved to El Paso, which is only a mere 6 1/2 hours and a tank of gas from Farmington. Coming from Buffalo, we're practically neighbors. On Wednesday night Ben said he was bored of doing stuff around the house. So, we left for El Paso at ten on Thursday morning. It was fun to play with cousins (and their parents), make fires, and be outside in the warm weather.

That is Mexico in the distance. Juarez to be exact. I am scared of that place, but it makes for a good picture.
We got in a little mountain biking.
And some marshmallow roasting

And this little guy happened to be asleep whenever I took pictures, so I took a picture of him on the drive home. This was the grin I got everytime I looked back at him.
And Ben, former Texas Missionary, got his Blue Bell ice cream in TEXAS for the first time since he left. It was definitely as good as he said it was.
Thanks Alisha, Jamon, Jocelyn, Scarlett, and Bradley for the fun weekend!

Well, it's official. We've traded in our buffalonian title for that of the New Mexicans. Actually, I don't think we'll be REALLY official until we get one of these:A BIG truck. They are all over in these parts. In fact, I don't think I've seen a prius or camry since I've been here. This was the view from our front window on superbowl Sunday- 12 trucks and no cars, not one! It's quite the phenomenon. I guess it's a matter of time . . .
Royce, Jessica and baby Mayla came down and helped us move in. It was so great to have their help, but even more to have their company! Here's a glimpse of the inside of house we're renting. It's santa fe style, which is growing on me. Pretty soon I'm going to have a Kokopelli bumper sticker and an array of turquoise jewelry.

As for the rest of January, it was the best January of our married lives. On the 12th, Ben passed his anesthesia boards, which means no more school! We loved spending time with family and friends here in the west and hope to see you all more often. Here are some of the festivities:

My Grandpa Clingo turned 90! We went to the aquariam in Sandy. Dayton still is talking about the penguins.

Ben took Dayton skiing. He was in love and wanted to go over and over again. I just finished telling him a bedtime story about the skiier, Dayton.
Now, here we are. Life has changed so quickly. We miss our Buffalo friends and memories. We've met some wonderful people and driven to beautiful places. We've made fellow cougar fans. In the morning it is sunny and at night time I can see the stars. I think we're going to like it here.
